Cape Town Mission Field

2 February 2018
Day 55
Friday

This morning we stopped at the Post Office then the bank. Elder Courtright needed to deposit some funds into the Church's Bank account to cover the petrol cost for the month of January. It was higher than usual because we were driving the bakkie (truck) for most of the month because one set of missionaries were using or car while there's was being repaired at Reeds in downtown Cape Town. We learned that they've been real busy by picking up on business from Thorp's in Claremont, who are closing. It turns out that GM is pulling out of South Africa and Thorp never had a legitimate contract with GM to perform warranty work. Sister Courtright received some additional help from the Assistants with regards to using the software tools on the computer. Elder Keetch again stepped up and provided some valuable help.
We walked out onto the Mission Office grounds to survey the new picnic table that the facilities group put in. The grounds are rather large and President Lebethoa has envisioned a temple going in on these grounds one day. There are remnants of a covered over swimming pool in one corner of the grounds. Not sure if this was a public swimming pool area at one time many years ago. The office is way behind us in the background to the right.
