Day 204
Sunday
This morning while at church during the Langa 2nd Sacrament meeting (Fast and Testimony day) the rains were pouring down so hard and fast you could hardly hear the speakers bear their testimonies. Elder Courtright recounted a similar storm he ended getting caught in on the way to work in Davenport, Iowa on his bike. It reminded him of the scene in "Forest Gump" where the lieutenant was on the ship mast being pelted by the stormy wind and rain and exclaimed "Is that all you got?". He felt the same excitement and challenge to push forward into the storm and make it to work. Which he did, all soaking wet. He stated that he can't remember any of the hundred times he rode back and forth to work but that day will forever be etched in his mind. The challenges we face are the things that make us stronger and will remain with us. And remember that the Lord will be right by our side helping us face the tests during this earthly challenge.
Our daughter, Jackie, sent us some pictures of the grand kids hiking around Silver Lake just up Cottonwood canyon. It's a beautiful area. And the kids always enjoy climbing their favorite rock wall.

Nice pictures of your grandkids. When I am struggling I always remember the verse in Psalms 46:1, 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'
