    Day 305
Wednesday

Today was transfer day, those staying in Cape Town get assigned to their new companions, and those traveling to the East Cape are sent via air to their new assignments. We started by getting to the office around 7:00 am for Sister Courtright to send out the "Safe New Arrival" letters to the parents letting them know that their son's arrived safely and are now in the hands of President Lebethoa. Sister Courtright includes a picture of their son with President and Sister Lebethoa taken during lunch yesterday on the front lawn of the Mission Home. We then had Daniel from El Greeyo drop off sandwiches at 8:00 am and then we headed to the Nightingale Close boarding to pick up the new elders and drive them to the Gugulethu Chapel for exchanges and transport to the airport since this chapel is only a mile or so away from Cape Town International Airport. We made two trips to the airport. Some left at 9:30 am and the others left at 10:30 am. Sister Courtright sets up snacks and fruit for those coming and going and prepares a lunch sack for those traveling via airplane.
Sister Courtright drove the Ford Ranger back to the office while following some other elders. Elder Courtright returned with the Assistants in the Mission Van after dropping off the rented van. When Elder Courtright returned the van he checked the trip mileage and it was 101 kilometers. The rent contract was for 100 kilometers, the next level of payment was at 200 kilometers. So he felt blessed that he was right on target. He then realized that he didn't stop to fill up with gas and he glanced at the fuel gage and it read "Full". He thanked the Lord for those little miracles.
Back at the office we ate spaghetti and meat balls from El Greeyo that Sister Courtright arranged for because she knew the President would be interviewing the departing elders and there would be a lot of traffic from the new companionships needing things. The Meadowridge elders found some curtains and needed to cut the curtain rod to fit their boarding. The also needed new phones for the Fish Hoek and Grassy Park elders. Then Elder Smith reminded Elder Courtright that he also needed a new phone for the new Mfuleni area elders. So he loaded up some phones with new SIM Cards and put in a request to get them activated. Usually happens within 24 hours. He also figured out that their was a bad SIM Card that he put in the new phone for Sister Courtright. Once that was replaced she now has phone service again.
The rest of the afternoon was spent doing baptism paperwork and catching up on emails. We left around 7:00 PM and went to our boarding for a quick bite then on to the airport to see off the departing elders. We've really grown attached to a couple of them, Elder Stevens in particular since he was serving at the Langa Branch where we attend church. He has a powerful testimony of the Savior. He is really going to be a great man and influence for good. He surprised us with a gift while in the office this afternoon, it was a stone carved elephant head with "Courtright's" engraved on it. We will surely miss him.
We also realized that Elder Gillis, whom we've never associated with since he's served in the East Cape the whole time we've been here, but he's from Copper Hills, Utah which is a mile or so away from where we live in West Jordan, Utah. Strange.
