Cape Town Mission Field

 Day 339
Tuesday

Today was a busy one. We hit the Post Office then stopped at the Milnerton elders boarding to get a measurement for some curtains that Sister Courtright is hemming for them. We then stopped at the Makro store for our weekly boarding supplies. We then stopped at the Elsie's River boarding on the way home to pick up an extra bed that they were using temporarily when Elder Mauerman came back on mission. Sister Courtright was busy with orders to get ready for Wednesday pick up. Elder Courtright picked up a washing machine from the Nightingale Close storage garage with the help of the Assistants. He brought it back to the office and set it up in the shed and ran a load of table cloths through it to test it out and ensure it works. He had the Assistants help him load it back on to the truck for delivery to the Paarl elders tomorrow who have been experiencing problems with their washing machine and the appliance repair people don't go that far out of town.
Elder Courtright received another call from Elder Makwakwa. He and his companion were mugged again, on the same street in Mthatha as they were mugged last week. These two fellows asked for their phones and money (R30). A member woman who saw the event came out of her home and yelled at the fellows and began chasing them, she recognized one of them. Elder Courtright informed them that their replacement phone from last weeks mugging would be arriving tomorrow with the elders so they can pick it up from them to remain in touch with everyone.
Elder Smith was in the office and we asked for the pictures of him and Elder Anderson from last Sunday's Stake Conference. He gave us a picture of him with Elder Anderson and Elder Sitati, from the First Quorum of the Seventy. His companion, Elder Mabanga also had a picture take with them.
Elder Smith is in the same Bountiful, Utah ward as Elder Anderson's daughter. That's how they share a connection.

We stopped at the River Club to pick up their Tuesday pizza special and ate it on the way to Mitchell's Plain to view a flat for lease that would put the Mandalay elders very close to their area where they proselyte. It seemed like a fairly secure neighborhood so we will visit it with the President tomorrow and see if we can secure it. There were several interested people there looking at it too.
