Day 329
Saturday
This morning we met the Beal's at the Lorraine Elders boarding and did a whirlwind tour of all the elders boarding's in Port Elizabeth. We also contacted the Stake Patriarch and visited him to view the converted garage he has for lease. It should suit our elders in Lorraine just fine and bring them closer to their area of assignment.
We left feeling that we were blessed by the Lord and very successful. The Beal's have really contributed immensely to the supporting the elders here in PE along with taking care of their Seminary and Institute assignment.
We ate our leftovers along the way back to George and ran into the fires again. This time we noticed at one point that there was no oncoming traffic and when we reached the Storm river bridge again traffic was halted because it was burning under the bridge. We only had to wait for about 20 minutes then they let us go again. It was very smokey all along the way back to George. We stopped in Plattenburg and went for a short hike (which we were not prepared for, Sister Courtright in her dress and Elder Courtright in his suit) but we had a wonderful time. It was snowing on us, not snow, but ash. As we went through Knysna it was also burning on the hillside and very smokey. Once in George we had second thoughts about staying because it was difficult to breath. We had the B&B to ourselves.
