Cape Town Mission Field

   Day 372
Sunday

We had a great service today then grabbed some stickers from the office and brought them back to the Langa 1st ward to put on their Light the World flyers they passed out today after church to invite community members to church on next Sunday to watch the Christmas devotional.
Afterwards we stopped at brother and sister Sandie's home for dinner. They invited us to join them to celebrate Sister Sandie's birthday and their 8 year anniversary. Their home is a one room shack behind some structured homes (brick and wood). She made a fantastic luncheon. We shared how we both met our spouses. And learned how brother Sandie decided to go on a mission despite opposition from family members. We then headed for the office to pick up some tools before heading to the Stake Christmas concert in Meadowridge. The Mandalay ward sang two special Christmas songs in Xhosa and they killed it. It was so beautiful and powerful. We truly felt their spirit. Afterwards we took the Fish Hoek elders home to see if we could fix their tap issues. Earlier in the day Elder Farer grabbed the hot water tap in the upstairs hallway sink and it came apart and began spraying hot water everywhere. We talked them through how to open up a panel in the bathroom and turn off the shut-off valve. So we went down after the concert and Elder Courtright was able to replace two tap valves so they could turn their water back on. We were blessed to have two spare tap valve in our box of supplies since it was late on a Sunday night. We went back to our boarding and brought the truck and trailer back to the office for moving stuff from the Strandfontein boarding that we are closing. We finally got back home around 11:00 pm, late again.
Sunset coming over the pass to Fish Hoek
