Day 359
Monday
We made a trip to the market to pick up fruit this morning and was having a difficult time finding much. We were about to leave when a brother from the Mowbray ward stopped and introduced himself. He is the executive secretary in that ward and noticed we were missionaries. He buys bulk fruits and vegetables for his company here. He told us that Monday's are bad because they are getting rid of items from last week and new stock arrives today. So he recommended we come back tomorrow and he will meet us here to help us out. It's amazing how the Lord blesses us everyday. The only thing we took with us was banana's.
At the office we worked on this week's MLC meeting preparation. Elder Courtright is finalizing some new leases and Sister Courtright continues to work on the Christmas letters we will be sending out.
We ran out to pick up a car from the repair shop and did some other shopping while we were out. Turns out the timing was good because while we were gone the power was out in the office for about 2 hours. Apparently the power company is doing something called load shedding where different areas around the cape go without power for a couple of hours. We decided to go to the Canal Walk mall after work but when we got there it was closed because that area was now without power. So we decided to drive to the Belville chapel area to look for a place to buy roasted chickens for this Friday's zone conference. We drove to the Pick n Pay by the chapel and the lady, Amelia, in the deli said she would prepare 11 whole chickens for us on Friday and cut them in half and provide the drippings for us to make gravy. The Lord again directed us in the way we should be going. We walked across the street and ate at a restaurant a lady recommended in the store. It was a great place. The food was great and Sister Courtright was near the preparation area and she was fascinated by the chef's presentations. They had a nice talk after dinner.
