Day 427
Saturday
This morning we got up and had some French Toast then picked up the two bikes from Neil. We went to the office and dropped off the one new (used) bike for the Milnerton elders and placed it in the shed. We then headed up to Tableview and dropped off the repaired bike for Elder Orro. We looked at the curtains they installed in their bedroom and they looked really nice. We then headed over to the beach which is about 4 blocks away. We went upstairs to the Primi restaurant that overlooks Table Bay and had a nice lunch by the window. Afterwards we went down to the beach and the wind had picked up so the beach was filled with kite surfers. We met one couple that had been doing it for about a year now and they showed us how the kite worked. There is a harness around your mid section that you hook onto the bar and pulley system. There's a pull bar that you pull down on that tips the from edge of the kite to grab more wind and lift you. When you release the bar it stops the lift action. Sister Courtright hung onto the back of the gentleman who was standing on the beach to show her how much lift it has when he pulled down on the bar. He told us that there was a "King of the Air" competition 2 days ago in which one individual flew up 32 meters, that's around 100 feet in the air.
We stopped for ice cream before heading home and we found a group of boys just sitting outside the ice cream shop. We couldn't resist so they all got ice cream cones as a treat from us.
After a nap at home, due to our late night (early morning) last night we stopped at the office to take care of a couple of items and chatted with the assistants regarding next weeks transfer board showing where all the new and old elders will be stationed. Elder Lawer, one of our favorites, is going to be stationed in the newly opened Port Alfred. That's a beautiful community and he'll really love it there.
We then went to the movies to see Glass. We really enjoyed all of M. Night Shyamalan movies so we wanted to see where this mini series was going. Sad that the Bruce Willis' character was killed off. Usually, the villain and hero never die. They go on battling each other forever.
