Today we had our senior couples Microsoft Online Meeting with all the couples across the mission.
We shared some great experiences and testimonies with each other.

Cape Town Mission Field       21 June 2018     Day 194 Thursday Today Sister Courtright had Neil Slater stop in with his boys to do some facility changes. They moved some shelves, supported some other shelves, added a Masonite board for her transfer board, and sealed a leak in the roof. She keeps them busy. Elder Courtright submitted an incident report to the Church headquarters. This is done for any injury, accident, assault, threat, or violent act. Elder Lane was stopped by a man with a knife last Saturday and he emptied his pockets and the man took a R50 note then told him not to say anything then left. We are sure grateful that nothing serious happened to Elder Lane. After all, he's been through quite enough. (Early on in his mission experience he was stabbed in the back by someone attempting to take their car. He has an issue with knives, I think.)

Cape Town Mission Field   24 February 2018 Day 77 Saturday This morning we took our time around the flat getting up and fixing breakfast then we headed off towards Paarl for a nice drive. And guess what? It was lightly raining with some nice 'dark' clouds all around the area. We drove to the Afrikaans Language memorial, about 45 minute drive to a beautiful valley surrounded by gorgeous mountains. This is where a monument was erected celebrating the birth of a new language; Afrikaans.but before starting the tour we ate lunch at the little cafe on-site. We had bobotie. Made from curried mince with chutney and a quiche like topping with some yellow rice and baked squash on the side. It was amazing.  It turns out that Afrikaans is a mixture of several languages. A. Cape Town Mission Field   28 October 2019   Day 687 Monday Count Up => +1 We have now started our personal tour of South Africa, this is Day 1. We headed for the Cape of Good Hope today knowing it was going to be raining off and on. This is a trip that you spend a lot of time in the car and we were hoping for sunny breaks when we got out to see things. We asked Martha to come along and she was excited to do so. We first stopped at Simon's Town to see the penguins. We were practically the first on the beach. We met Sean Robertson from Idaho but grew up in Salt Lake around 45th South and Redwood Road. He has traveled the world (52 countries) working mostly on ships as a repair diver and inspector. We left just as it started to rain. We then went down to the Cape of Good Hope and the sun was out so we hiked up to the lighthouse and had some great weather. We also drove down to the beach and took some photos there too.
