Day 679

We received an unexpected but welcomed text from the Hermanus elders this morning. We rarely get any feedback regarding people we come across and sent them to the elders or direct them to the nearest church. But this morning the elders shared with us that Sister Kudakwashe had been attending church this past year after we found her in a Italian restaurant that we stopped at in Hermanus for lunch. She said she was once a member of our church when she lived in Zimbabwe. We explained that once you are a member you are always a member and that there was a church nearby where she was living. She reported that finding the church again had changed her life dramatically and was so grateful that we directed her to the church again.

Sister Kudakwashe and child with Elder Bray and Elder Adams
We had a wonderful service to day at church. There were many new faces today. Most came as a result of the funeral service yesterday stating that they were touched by the spirit there and knew they needed to be at church today. We also had some great discussions in Sunday School regarding Paul's teachings while he was imprisoned. We spent a lot of time comparing his words to the 13th Article of Faith.

Brother Mshweshwe, he isn't a member but faithfully comes every week and shared some wonderful testimonies about the power of prayer
We then spent some time at the BnB having a lesson with Martha, the housekeeper, and the Assistants that we invited over to get to know her since we will be leaving soon. She has a great spirit and insight with regards to the teachings of the restoration and plan of salvation. We shared some personal testimonies with her and she closed the discussion with a prayer in Sesotho, her native tongue from Lesotho.
This evening we went over to the Presidents house to have dinner with his family. A last supper so to speak. We had a great time with President and Sister Lebethoa and their children. We brought a lot of classic novels that were left in the flat by the Hansen's. Novels like Moby Dick, Treasure Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Sherlock Holmes, The Jungle Book, etc. The children were really excited. We didn't really want to go because we knew this signaled the end of things to come.

President and Sister Lebethoa in front of the Transfer board in their home office. This is where everything gets changed every six weeks and decisions are made about who stays and who goes where.
