ELEPHANTS!!!!
This morning we were up at 5:00 am and on our way to the Addo Elephant park for a day of fun with all the senior couples. The park is only about a 45 minute drive east of Port Elizabeth. We arrived and checked in just as they were opening the park gates at 7:00. We drove through the park and communicated via Whatsapp pointing out sightings of different animals in the park. We had some great sightings of Back-faced Monkeys, Hartebeest, Jackals, Warthogs, Eland, Zebra, and, of course, Elephants. We came upon a large herd at a water hole. They were drinking and splashing water on themselves then mud. There were two babies and we even got to see them nurse. It was a fantastic day. We ended up at the beachfront for a lovely dinner and we saw some whales in the bay. Some Orca's and some Humpbacks. Sister Hayden (77 years old) tried to teach Sister West how to "Can-Can". She's a real high-kicker! We then caught our flight back to Cape Town. It was a long, wonderful day.
