Got up and had a great breakfast from Beatie then headed up the road to the Harold Porter Nature Reserve. Sister Courtright stayed at the car while Elder Courtright and Kerry hiked up to the Leopard Cliff falls. It was a stark contrast to see all the burned black brush with all the new green growth coming up underneath it all. The falls were spectacular and the water was a rust color from all the decaying minerals in the water. It was quite beautiful as it rolled over the rocks and down the falls. Sister Courtright met a group of preschool children on a hike and she joined in and gave them all one of the fabric dolls she brought with us to Africa that were made by her Aunt Nan.
We then headed to Hermanus and ate some KFC on the rocks at the far side of the bay. The waves were crashing hard against the rocks. It was quite spectacular. We then went down town and walked through the area, checked into our BnB, then had dinner at La Pentola overlooking the bay. While there we saw a whale just off shore jumping several times. He was having a great time.
This type of tree burned from the inside

New growth with the burned protea bushes still visible

Kerry coming up the trail

The foam from the falls created some interesting patterns in the pools

Explosive waves hitting the boulders in Hermanus bay

Sandy with mother whale and baby calf just off shore
