This morning we had a lovely breakfast and said goodbye to Lew. We didn't get to see Rita because she was in Johannesburg attending to her father's funeral. We will miss this lovely couple and their fine BnB. We stopped quickly at the Heads in Knysna to show Kerry the beautiful inlet to the bay. We stopped at Jukani Big Cat rescue reserve. We learned a lot about the big cats. It was also interesting to learn more about Hyena's and how unique and dangerous the really are. We then continued on to the Storms River Suspension bridge and hiked to the bridge and back after grabbing some lunch there. The surf was really pounding the coast but it was interesting to see how the line of surf really stopped at the entrance to the canyon, it really quieted down.
We then finished the drive to Port Elizabeth and checked in to our favorite BnB there, The Milbury. We then me the Burk's and Hayden's at 2 Olives for a nice dinner. It was great to see them again.

They grow Milkweed Grasshoppers big here. They emit a latex substance when threatened which can blind a dog or cat that may try to eat it

Cape Town Mission Field       24 December 2018    Day 380 Monday Welcome Christmas Eve! We were up around 6:00 AM to cook the calamari and haul all the food to the office and get it setup for the open house. It was a hectic morning but with the help of our dear friend, The Lord, we were able to pull it all together. Sister Hamilton worked on the rolls and some cookies she made up beforehand. She also supplied a ham and a 7 layer bean dip. It was a welcomed treat for all the elders. They were very grateful for all the wonderful food and were excited to receive their packages from Sister Courtright that she has been holding for them. The assistants came back after their soccer game and helped with some kitchen cleanup. We finally left around 6:00 PM and spent the evening vegging out. It was a good day!

Cape Town Mission Field       21 June 2018     Day 194 Thursday Today Sister Courtright had Neil Slater stop in with his boys to do some facility changes. They moved some shelves, supported some other shelves, added a Masonite board for her transfer board, and sealed a leak in the roof. She keeps them busy. Elder Courtright submitted an incident report to the Church headquarters. This is done for any injury, accident, assault, threat, or violent act. Elder Lane was stopped by a man with a knife last Saturday and he emptied his pockets and the man took a R50 note then told him not to say anything then left. We are sure grateful that nothing serious happened to Elder Lane. After all, he's been through quite enough. (Early on in his mission experience he was stabbed in the back by someone attempting to take their car. He has an issue with knives, I think.)

Cape Town Mission Field       27 July 2018     Day 230 Friday Today we left work a little early to visit with the El Greeyo caterers. We stopped at their restaurant where Tania helped Sister Courtright come up with a menu for our next conference. Their 9 year old daughter Daniella was there and she was having great time looking at funny stories on the internet then looking up amazing things you can do with a hot glue gun. We finally left as they closed the restaurant and sent us on our way with some of their delicious quiche. We drove down to the V&A Waterfront and watched the full moon come up on the horizon then we viewed it through telescopes that the amateur and professional astronomers set up to view the eclipse. We waited until about 8:30 pm just as the eclipse started then left for home. We could also visibly see 5 planets lined up in an arc across the sky; Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn and Venus.
