Day 101
Tuesday

Today we went to the Post Office and Sister Courtright ran into the Pick-n-Pay grocery store and found...guess what...corned beef. So we put it in the Crock Pot once we got back to the office.
Elder Courtright did some cleaning up in the shed where the South Stake is going to set up some food preparation tomorrow for the holiday celebration. He also took in the van to have a flat repaired. And while there had them replace the headlamps because one apparently only works occasionally according to Elder Huang. The repair man noticed the insert was messed up so he played around with it for awhile until he was satisfied it was corrected.
Back at the office Elder Courtright trimmed some low-hanging limbs from a thorn tree that you have to go under when entering the parking area in front of the office. The limbs were dragging along the top of the truck and van since they sit much higher than the elders cars. This type of tree is apparently common out in the bush and the giraffes seem to like the leaves. But I have no idea how they could eat the leaves off the tree once you see the size of the thorns. Ouch!

  1. The good old Acacia tree. I saw giraffes use their long tongues and eat the leaves while I was in Tanzania. I brought home some of the thorns and they are long and painfully sharp. You are doing great work there. Never knew you had so many home improvement skills. Keep up the good work. Sending prayers.
