    Day 234
Tuesday

Today we had a wonderful Senior Couples Skype meeting with all the senior couples across the mission. We heard some amazing testimonies and stories of the growth and faith of the members across the mission. Elder Stevenson told of a returned missionary bearing testimony of the wonderful elder that brought him the gospel 20 years ago. His name was Elder Blaser. The Blasers who are the new Senior Couple in Queenstown were listening and gasped in joy that their son had been instrumental in someone's life 20 years earlier.
Elder Bullman gave a wonderful testimony of a lady who had struggled greatly but after months of persistence entered the waters of baptism and described what he saw as she came out of the water as "an angel".
Sister Bullman gave a wonderful scriptural discussion on Helaman 5 versus 12, which I included below. It is such a powerful motivation of hope to know that when the devil bears down on us we have no need to fear if we've built a firm foundation on the Redeemer.
It was then back to reality as Elder Courtright made a quick trip to the Makro store to pick up a refrigerator for the Guguletu Elders whose fridge has died. Unfortunately, a bulk buyer bought up all the refrigerators in the size and cost range that we were looking for. So now he is considering running down to Fish Hoek and picking up the extra fridge they have at their boarding tonight and delivering it tomorrow. He was able to get a good discount on 50 thumbdrives for the elders, so it wasn't a wasted trip.
We set up and organized the MLC dinner tonight at the Mowbray chapel. And Sister Courtright got a call from the person she met at the Makro check out line yesterday. They caught eyes and couldn't seem to disconnect. She asked if they knew each other but they didn't. So she invited him to have a Book of Mormon an asked if he would like to come to church on Sunday. She gave him her phone and we got his phone number. He called and asked exactly where the church was located. We told him and gave his name and number to the Milnerton and Tableview elders and asked that they contact him tonight and arrange to meet him on Sunday at the chapel.

12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty stormshall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
