Day 353
Tuesday
Double Bonus Day Today! Elder Courtright's birthday and it has been 1 year since we began our mission when we entered the MTC.
We went to the post office then to the Makro store to pick up boarding supplies. We stopped at the bakery and the packaging store on the way home. At Merry Pak packaging store Elder Courtright found some table decorations that had a colorful spray of tinsel in gold, silver and black with different numbers for how old you are. Elder Courtright had 3 of them sitting on the counter with the number 21 on them and he proclaimed, "Look, this is how old I am, 21 (x3)". Elder Courtright received 3 phone calls from different groups of elders in the mission and they all sang Happy Birthday to him. Sister Courtright was awake at 2:00 AM so she decided to bake Elder Courtright a pie. The closest thing we have to pumpkin was sweet potato's. So when he woke up he got sweet potato pie in bed for his birthday gift. Elder Opolot stopped by and gave Elder Courtright a tie for his birthday which was made from a native Ugandan print material. This evening we left around 5:00 PM to drop off the rest of the pie for Sister Lebethoa and the children. She is here this week by herself as the president is in East London and Sister Lebethoa's father passed away this past weekend from cancer. She'll be flying out to Johannesburg to attend the funeral this coming weekend.
Happy birthday, Glenn! 🎈🎂🎶It looks like you have had a fabulous day. I pray that God will richly bless you this coming year, even more than He has this last year. Love you, Penny
