   Day 381
Tuesday

Merry Christmas everyone!
This morning we ran to the office around 7:00 AM to take care of a few outstanding items then went over to the Hamilton's at 9:00 AM for Christmas breakfast there were several elders there with us and Elder Opolot prepared a breakfast pancake. It was sort of like a burrito filled with scrambled eggs and shredded carrots. The pancake was thicker than a burrito and heavy with lard but not as thick as a regular pancake. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast and conversation then we headed back to the office to finish up some supply preparations for tomorrow's pick up by the zone leaders. We then headed for Fish Hoek to have Christmas dinner with the Forsyth's.
We had a wonderful, relaxed evening with the Forsyth's. They prepared a great dinner with Turducken as the main course with yams, butternut squash, potato wedges, creamed spinach, stuffing and a cranberry sauce for the meat. And gravy, of course. They also served us their favorite non-alcoholic grape juice from a winery they visited long ago and ended up liking it so much they served it at their wedding 25 years ago. Hilary has a home business that uses a laser cutting machine and she made us a Christmas tree shaped ornament with a beautiful Christmas message from Howard W. Hunter.
We called our children when we got home but only talked for a few minutes because it was late our time and Sister Courtright couldn't stay awake. So we decided to call again tomorrow.

One of their center beams in their house has a knot on the corner which looks like a "heart"

  1. Merry Christmas, and sorry it is so late. We have been busy helping with the orphanage.
