Tuesday


This morning it was an early rise to beat the traffic to get to the Bellville chapel by 8:00 AM to set up for the combined zone conference today. We got everything set up just in time for the start of the meeting at 9:00. We had some wonderful instruction and discussions with Elder Sitati. He asked what questions the elders had then proceeded to answer them in a beautiful manner with such simplicity and a powerful witness from the spirit. These are wonderful moments. The instruction lasted all day and we finally left around 4:00 PM. It turned out that the car we dropped off was ready for pick up and it was on the way back. Elder Courtright had a wonderful discussion with the service attendant that was helping him. She was directed to the "mormon.org" website and she immediately caught sight of a message about "How to Pray". She has been struggling with that and so she printed it out to read it on the way home. She also typed in where she lived and the map came up with the chapel nearby to where she lives. She admitted that she hadn't been to church for a while and was interested in coming out on Sunday. She said 9:00 am was a perfect time for her.
We dropped the car off at the office and finished up some emails then headed home around 8:30 PM.

Cape Town Mission Field   28 October 2019   Day 687 Monday Count Up => +1 We have now started our personal tour of South Africa, this is Day 1. We headed for the Cape of Good Hope today knowing it was going to be raining off and on. This is a trip that you spend a lot of time in the car and we were hoping for sunny breaks when we got out to see things. We asked Martha to come along and she was excited to do so. We first stopped at Simon's Town to see the penguins. We were practically the first on the beach. We met Sean Robertson from Idaho but grew up in Salt Lake around 45th South and Redwood Road. He has traveled the world (52 countries) working mostly on ships as a repair diver and inspector. We left just as it started to rain. Cape Town Mission Field       25 September 2018     Day 290 Tuesday Today was a quiet day around the office and we did make a Makro run for missionary supplies. Most of the day was spent catching up on emails and orders and baptisms and car issues. The Mandalay elders took their car in for service and we picked it up for them in the afternoon. There are some pretty white flowers blooming in the corner of the lot that I took a picture of.

Cape Town Mission Field       10 September 2018     Day 275 Monday This was a 'real' Monday. We got a call from the Fish Hoek elders informing us that they lost their phone. The Gugulethu elders hit a pot hole last night and got a flat and drove on it to the chapel because they were driving on their spare, due to a flat tire from Saturday. The zone leaders couldn't help them because their spare was flat. The Elsie River elders lent them their spare but driving home to their flat the car was driving funny. And this all took place before 8:00 am. Later this morning the Knysna elders phoned and indicated that they were driving to George and got a flat but their wrench doesn't fit the lug nuts. I had them call AIG tow truck to assist. The Zone Leaders (Elder Stevens) was particularly helpful in taking responsibility for picking up all the bad spare tires and taking them in to the shop for replacement or repair.
