Day 469
Saturday
This morning was a day for doing more boarding inspections. We went in early to pick up some items for boarding inspections and had then headed to Meadowridge. Their are only two elders now in this boarding and it is a lot less cluttered. They are doing a nice job but Sister Courtright showed them how to defrost the freezer. We need to get their bathroom door repainted on the interior.
We then went to Fish Hoek and looked their boarding over thoroughly. Elder Courtright fixed their kitchen cabinet door that has been off for some time. He filled the screw holes with some putty the last time we were there. We also found another leaky faucet so we decided to pick up a new tap before going home.
We went to the Capri Elders boarding and Sister Courtright showed them some tips on doing a better cleaning job in the kitchen. Elder Courtright reset the shower door so it closed better against the magnetic strip so it would leak onto the floor. He also set some filler on a loose fitting for a towel rack and asked the elders to let it dry for two days then tighten the towel bar back onto the fittings and report back to see if it held or not. Elder Courtright also installed the smoke detector above their bedroom entrance. We then met with the Forsyth's to see how they were doing. They have been busy finishing their stairwell in preparation for the son's visit in a few weeks from Canada. We left with the intention of coming back next Friday and going out to dinner with them.
We then headed to the hardware store to pick up some items for the repairs at the Fish Hoek boarding. We also stopped for some lunch as it was now about 2:00 pm. We found a little diner in the mini-mall and had a steak sandwich and Hawaiian burger. We picked up the items we needed then headed back to the Fish Hoek elders. We fixed the leaky tap and partially secured the other tap. We will need to come back with a deep-well socket head to fit over the nut to secure it better next time we come.
