Day 472
Tuesday
We dropped the president's Mazda off at the car shop this morning for service then headed to the post office. We then went to Makro to pick up our weekly supplies. After we left Sister Courtright realized the letters that were in her purse were missing. We went back to the store and the lady who was serving tea and muffins found them next to the chair Sister Courtright was sitting in. Whew!
We stopped at the River Club to make our reservations for tonight's dinner with the newly arriving elders. We unloaded supplies then continued working in the office. The new elders arrived and we all went through our training sessions with them. Elder Courtright talks about vehicles, housing, safety, phones, accident reporting, and driver certification. Sister Courtright talks about baptismal records, and paying for packages that come to them in the mail. Elder Firth discusses the use of the MSF (Missionary Support Fund) debit card each one has to provide the necessities they need throughout the month. It is then refilled at the first of each month so they have to budget wisely. Sister Firth discusses health issues and good health practices.
We then took them to the River Club for burgers.
We then returned to the office to gather a few items then headed to our boarding to prepare some sloppy joe mix and potato salad for tomorrow's luncheon in the office.
Only 3 new elders this transfer: one from Brazil, one from Johannesburg, one from Madagascar |
