Cape Town Mission Field

    4 April 2019
    Day 481
Thursday

This morning we picked up meat pies for the elders lunch sacks that will be flying back to the east cape. We stopped at Nightingale to deliver these and had the assistants come out to the garage and load up the stove that was in storage. We will get it serviced and placed at the Elsie River boarding. We had Elder Clark give Sister Courtright a wonderful letter describing his apology for not informing us last night when they were running late getting back to the office where we were entertaining the zone leaders during dinner. He spoke of a wonderful story from his childhood and related it to not ever wanting to hurt his mother's feelings and how he considers Sister Courtright a mother to all the elders and wants to ensure their relationship is solid and in good standing.
We stopped at the Gugulethu elders for a boarding inspection. Elder Courtright replaced a shower tap and Elder Silva (from Brazil) prepared breakfast burrito's for everyone. He also showed his recipe for making beans, the preparation and cooking in the slow cooker.
We then headed for the Mowbray elders boarding and found everything there in great condition. It was a stop at the office to pick up some items for the Elsie River boarding and drop off the stove for the appliance repair people to pick up. We had a quick visit to the Elsie River boarding and found a few items we still need to follow up on, such as the vinyl flooring that we asked the landlord to replace.
Back at the office, since it had been raining all day, the assistants went out to wash down their car in the rain and while at it they washed down the Ford Ranger for us.
